01Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Smart Inventory ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our marketing website, request a demo, contact us, or subscribe to our newsletter. We are committed to transparency and to protecting the data of every shop owner and small business who trusts us. If you sign up for the actual service at our dashboard, additional account-level information is governed by a separate policy on that platform.
02Data Controller
For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the UK Data Protection Act 2018, the data controller responsible for your personal information is MAKSOF GLOBAL LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (Company Number 16119838). Smart Inventory is a product of MAKSOF GLOBAL LTD — full company details are available at maksof.com. We do not currently operate at a scale that requires a Data Protection Officer under GDPR Article 37, but any privacy-related question can be sent to sheikhsaamay@gmail.com and will be answered by a member of our team.
03Information we collect
Information you provide directly
When you use a contact form, request a demo, or subscribe to our newsletter, we collect: your name, email address, phone number, shop name, city, shop type, and any message you send us. This is the only personal data you actively share with the marketing site.
Information collected automatically
When you browse this website, we automatically collect: your approximate location (country / city level only, derived from IP), browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent, and the referring website. This data is used only to understand site usage and improve content — we never link it to your name or contact details.
04Legal Basis for Processing
Under GDPR / UK GDPR we process your data on the following legal bases: (a) Consent — for newsletter subscriptions and non-essential analytics cookies; you can withdraw consent at any time. (b) Legitimate Interest — for responding to inquiries you send us via the contact / demo forms, and for basic security and fraud-prevention logging; you can object to processing based on legitimate interest by contacting us. (c) Legal Obligation — for retaining records required by tax, accounting, or law-enforcement obligations. (d) Contract — for delivering the specific information or demo you request when you submit a form.
05How we use your information
We use your information to respond to your inquiries and demo requests, send you product updates if you opt into our newsletter, improve the marketing site based on aggregate usage patterns, detect and prevent fraud or abuse, and comply with applicable legal obligations. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any form of behavioral targeting.
06Cookies & tracking technologies
By continuing to use this website, you consent to the cookies described below. You can opt out at any time using the methods in the "How to delete, disable, or block cookies" section — no part of the marketing site requires cookies to function.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your preferences (like language choice), measure how visitors use the site in aggregate, and help with security. Cookies on their own do not contain personally identifying information — they are anonymous identifiers that work in combination with our server records.
Why we use cookies
We use cookies for three purposes only: (1) to remember your country preference, (2) to measure aggregate site usage via Google Analytics, and (3) to detect unusual or fraudulent traffic patterns. We do NOT use cookies for advertising, retargeting, behavioral profiling, or selling your data — and we never will.
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the site to function. They remember your country choice and your session preferences. The site cannot work properly without them.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)
GA4 sets first-party cookies (prefixed _ga) to count unique visitors and measure aggregate page popularity, time on page, and conversion paths. Data is reported in aggregate — we never see individual user IDs or contact information through GA4. We also use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which are cookieless and do not store any identifier that can be linked back to you.
No advertising or targeting cookies
We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Ads conversion tracking, LinkedIn Insight Tag, TikTok Pixel, or any other advertising / retargeting / profiling cookie. We earn no advertising income from this site.
How to delete, disable, or block cookies
Your browser can block, delete, or limit cookies. Below are direct links to instructions for the most common browsers. To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, you can install Google's official browser opt-out add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Please note: blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the site from remembering your country preference, but content will still load normally.
07How we share your information
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with: (1) service providers who help us operate the service — cloud hosting (Vercel, Supabase), email delivery (our SMTP provider), analytics (Google Analytics) — all bound by data processing agreements and only permitted to use your data on our instructions; (2) legal authorities when required by applicable law, court order, or to protect against fraud; and (3) in a business transfer (acquisition, merger, sale), in which case we will notify you in advance.
08Your data rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it for newsletter or analytics purposes. Just email us at sheikhsaamay@gmail.com with your request — we don't charge a fee, and you don't need to give a reason. We'll do our best to help as soon as we can.
09California Consumer Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives you specific rights over your personal information. You have the right to (a) know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use it, (b) request deletion of your personal information, (c) request correction of inaccurate information, and (d) opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. Smart Inventory does NOT sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not process the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 for such purposes. To exercise any CCPA right, email sheikhsaamay@gmail.com with your request and a way for us to verify your identity — we will respond within 45 days as required by law. We will never discriminate against you for exercising a CCPA right.
10Right to lodge a complaint
If you believe we have handled your personal data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In the United Kingdom, that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) — ico.org.uk. In the European Union, contact the data protection authority of your country of residence — a full list is available at edpb.europa.eu. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns directly first, so please consider emailing sheikhsaamay@gmail.com before you file a formal complaint.
11Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected: contact and demo form submissions are retained for up to 24 months to service ongoing correspondence and then deleted; newsletter subscriber records are retained until you unsubscribe (plus up to 30 days for our removal-processing window); Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months (the GA4 default) and then anonymised; server access logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and fraud investigation. After these periods your data is deleted or aggregated so it can no longer identify you. You can also email us to request early deletion at any time.
12Security measures
We protect your information using HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, enterprise-grade cloud hosting providers (Vercel, Supabase), and limited team access — only when necessary for support. We follow industry-standard practices and do our best to keep your data safe.
13Children's privacy
Our service is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it.
14International data transfers
Smart Inventory uses Vercel for hosting, which operates a global edge network. Your data may be processed in multiple regions — typically the United States, the European Union, and Singapore. All transfers use industry-standard encryption.
15Accessibility
Smart Inventory aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. This means we strive for sufficient colour contrast, visible focus indicators, keyboard-only navigability, meaningful alt text on images, and respect for prefers-reduced-motion. Accessibility is a moving target and we do not yet claim full conformance across every page — if you encounter a barrier that prevents you from using this site, please email sheikhsaamay@gmail.com and we will prioritise a fix.
16Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Please check back occasionally to stay informed.
17Contact us
For any privacy-related question, request, or complaint, email sheikhsaamay@gmail.com. Postal correspondence can be addressed to MAKSOF GLOBAL LTD (see maksof.com for the registered office). We're a small team and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
